About Me

Editor. Mentor. Novelist.

A passionate lover of fiction, Karin doesn’t just write novels, she helps others write their best stories. As an editor and writing mentor, her goal is to help authors put her out of business by equipping them with the tools they need to become better writers.

Karin learned to edit when she needed an editor for her own manuscript but couldn’t afford one. What she could afford were editing classes, so she started training through the PEN Institute. She quickly realized she loved editing, and eventually launched Write Now Editing.

Though she started as a fiction editor, her experiences as a novelist, journalist, and business content writer prepared her for nonfiction work too. She now regularly works with fiction and nonfiction writers to craft and strengthen their books.

Having worked as an acquisition editor, general editor for a publishing house, freelance editor, and novelist, she’s made many connections—and friends—in the industry. Through her experiences as a presenter and teacher at online, local, and national conferences, she continues to cultivate those relationships while learning about industry expectations and changes.

As the publishing industry continues to evolve, so do the needs of writers, which is why Karin added “mentor” to her list of services. Whether she’s helping authors master fiction-writing basics, organize nonfiction chapters, or navigate publishing options, if Karin doesn’t have an answer, she knows someone who does.

Karin’s #1 tips for new authors is always “be teachable,” and she’s an advocate of practicing what she preaches. She continues to learn and grow through professional affiliations in:
